Candia is a countryside village in the Nafplion area with 235 residents. Located southeast of Nauplion at an altitude of 30m above sea level. The locals are mainly engaged in agricultural crops, fishing and tourism.
On 1 July each year, in celebration of the Holy Anargiron a festival is organised with local traditional dances, songs and traditional local recipes!
The village was established around the end of the revolution of 1821 and was first occupied by refugees from Crete.
In summer the village is filled with tourists because it has one of the Argolida's most beautiful beaches.
Major attractions in Candia are a small Mycenaean Acropolis on Ag.Eleousas hill above the village and the Aga's Tower, an old stone house in the village taken by oma from an old lord of the area who lived there!
Nature attractions include the small estuary of the river Asclepius, which forms a small delta at the beach of Candia.
